520 _aThis project deals with the purpose of tilling in a gap in the tield of English teach ing in our country, that is to prepare an English course syllabus for Ecuadorian sales persons working atan Artisan Market in Guayaquil, who need to be able to communicate with their English speaking customers in order to improve their sales and probably their sel f esteem. The target group is formed by a set of tifty non-traditional students, s ince sorne of them are ill iterate; their ages go from fourteen to s ixty. Twenty tive males and twenty tive females form the sample group. They come from fourteen different provinces of our country; this fact gives its most remarkable characteristic: MUL TICUL TURALITY. These students also own another important distinctive tra it, they have no time to attend to an academy because they work all day long, they have no money to afford the courses and there is not any academy or programs offering English classes accord ing to their specitic needs. Readers will find in the document a need analysis of the learners according to the guidel ines proposed by Hutchinson and Waters who lead us to design an ESP (English for Specitic Purpose) according to the students needs.
